Creative Direction
I am the founding creative director of this global mental health nonprofit. I created the look and feel of the brand, built the online publication, and then recruited and cultivated relationships with editorial artists all over the world to bring our stories to life. Our team is very small, wearing multiple hats and trying with all our might to launch into public awareness with limited means. This meant my ideas were welcome in all aspects of our endeavor and I contributed to our video content, our fundraising efforts, and in the language that we use in all the ways we present to the world. I wrote all the marketing copy you see below. Click through the images to see associated stories and supporting artwork.
I conceived a child-led somatic exercise video series that our executive producer developed into our most popular content, growing our YouTube channel to 109k subscribers and 50M views in the first two years.
Inclusivity and representation are key to our stories finding resonance in communities where they can be most helpful. I sought these creators out online, through DMs, sometimes even down subreddit rabbit holes, to find just the right artist for each story. I utilized Instagram's carousel format to make multi-panel slides that showcased both important aspects of the articles and the artists' work to wring as much meaning (and reach) as possible from each piece.
